Starting next year, professional and casual Photoshop users won’t have to depend on their desktops and laptops to use their favorite image-editing software.
Adobe Systems Inc., the software company most known for its creative design programs, is planning to expand the full version of Adobe Photoshop to the iPad. The iPad Photoshop app will be part of Adobe’s new strategy to make its products accessible on more devices and to reach a wider subscription base.
Scott Belsky, Adobe’s chief product officer for Adobe’s Creative Cloud, said that Adobe seeks to bring its products to the mobile market sooner rather than later.
“My aspiration is to get these on the market as soon as possible,” Scott said. “There’s a lot required to take a product as sophisticated and powerful as Photoshop and make that work on a modern device like the iPad. We need to bring our products into this cloud-first collaborative era.”
Adobe plans to officially launch the Photoshop app for the iPad in 2019.
