DJI, a Chinese technology company popular for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles or drones is well-liked for its compact and well-priced “high-flying cameras”.
But this time, DJI finally made its first compact yet affordable drone. DJI Spark is the company’s smallest and cheapest drone so far. With a smartphone-like size, DJI Spark comes with a starting price of $500, around P24,000 pesos only. It is way cheaper than its larger sibling DJI Mavic Pro which costs $999 or around P50,000.
However, DJI Spark can only shoot 1080p video at 30 fps and produces 12MP photos. With lower video resolution, you can easily upload videos to different social media sites.
DJI Spark is also a selfie-drone. With 2-axis mechanical stabilization, max speed of 50km/h with 2km transmission distance and 16 minutes of air flight.
Aside from a cheaper retail price and selfie capability, DJI Spark can read body gestures. When you frame your fingers, DJI Spark will take a photo of you. You can control DJI Spark’s movement through a hand-wave.
DJI Spark will be available in 5 different colors such as sunrise yellow, alpine white, sky blue, lava red and meadow green. The shipment will begin this coming June.
