In 2012, the whole world dance in the moves of a Korean man with his “horseback riding” wave. It broke all music charts in his country and all over the world.
Its popularity also has some intrusions of apocalyptic doomsday prediction. But nevertheless, Gangnam Style indeed captivated the trend on the said year.
As a proof, the video of the song went viral and gained the most viewed clip on YouTube. Psy’s Gangnam style held the crown for five consecutive years with 2.897 billion views.
Unfortunately, the reign fainted by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s video for “See You Again” that garnered 2.902 billion views as of today. The song was released as part of Furios 7 soundtrack. It was also used as a tribute to Paul Walker.
The competition gets tougher with new entry challenger, the Luis Fonsi’s Despacito that gained 2.523 billion views as of now. It has all the potential to steal the crown from Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth anytime this year.
