Filipino singer and actress Lyca Gairanod tries “dumpster diving” for the first time during her trip to the United States.
On Monday, Lyca uploaded a video on her Facebook page where she was seen “dumpster diving,” a term that refers to the activity of searching for usable and valuable goods through a pile of junk in dumpsters, also known as “pangangalakal” in Tagalog.
Lyca revealed that it’s her dream to do “dumpster diving,” which she first encountered on TikTok, likening the activity to payless shopping.
“Trabaho ko ‘yun dati eh. Nakakakita ako ng [mga bagay na] libre-libre lang,” she recalled in the video.
Lyca was not able to take anything from the dumpster she first “dove” into, but she assured her viewers that they would still find another dumpster to show what it’s like to “kalakal sa sosyal na area.”
“‘Yun lang ang pinuntahan namin dito, ‘yung mga pa-dumpster-dumpster. Sanay ako sa trabahong ganyan ‘no?” she expressed.
Lyca is Arthur Nery’s special guest on his concert tour in Calgary, Anaheim, and San Diego on July 21, July 28, and July 29, respectively.
Lyca made her first break when she won “The Voice Kids” in 2014 and is now starring in the horror film “Mary Cherry Chua,” which was released on July 19.
