Knowledge Channel celebrated the 2023 National Teachers’ Month (NTM) with the launch of new video lessons “Siklo ng Enerhiya,” “Wow,” and “Puno ng Buhay,” provided Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library (KC PML) and trained teachers in various parts of the country to help them better engage their learners.
The new episodes of “Siklo ng Enerhiya,” created in partnership with the Department of Energy, delve into the science of energy, power distribution, and women in the energy sector. On their new seasons and with the support of Forest Foundation Philippines, the Araling Panlipunan series “Wow,” hosted by Edric Calma, highlights the lush forests and amiable people of Bukidnon, Leyte, Palawan, Rizal, and Batanes, while “Puno ng Buhay”s’ key messages on plant and forest protection were addressed by hosts Maymay Entrata and Elijah Canlas to intermediate school children.
A special episode of “Knowledge Factory,” Knowledge Channel’s factoid series, was produced to pay tribute to teachers and provide basic information on National Teachers’ Month and National Teacher’s Day.
Units of KC PML, an external hard drive loaded with thousands of K-12 curriculum-based video lessons and other digital learning resources, were distributed to teachers and principals in Quezon City and Tanay, Rizal. Participants were also trained on effectively using these resources in instruction. These were made possible with Knowledge Channel partners, Unilever – Breeze Philippines and Sikat Solar Challenge Foundation, Inc.
“You, our teachers, are the foundation of empowerment and development of our society. It is through your dedication and passion that our children learn and eventually become scientists, engineers, doctors, poets, and teachers – it is with your help that our children work closer towards achieving their dreams,” said KCFI president and executive director and 2023 NTM spokesperson for the private sector, Rina Lopez in her message to teachers at the National Teacher’s Day celebration held in Butuan City.
Since 1999, KCFI has been at the forefront of efforts to improve lives through education through the creation and distribution of relevant and engaging multimedia learning resources and the conduct of professional development programs for educators.
